Another way to improve your photographic skills by Jose Photography & Design

It is amazing how much you can improve by remaking your old photograph applying your new set of skills. here is how I did it
The image below was my favorite by 2013 when I took it, and there was a reason for the black background
1. It was cool to do it in camera to impress my friends
2. I didn't want to spend time scouting for a place that fits the shoot, so why not kill the background.

Now that I have new set of skills I decided to redo the image doing what I was supposed to do in first place.
But now I got a problem, my kid has grown and I didn't want him to look like a pervert looking at a Ipad in the darkness, so I adjusted it a bit to keep the same spirit as the original image.

It took time to find the right place, decide the time of the day and wait for the right weather, but it was 100% worth the effort.

Want to do great photography
the easy path doesn't take you too far.

How to find your own style as a photographer by Jose Photography & Design

I don't know any single photographer that has kept a single style during his/her whole artistic life, any style is in constant evolution.
Life experience, practice and constant experimentation are nurturing your unique style, be patient.

Just be yourself, we are all different and it will reflect in your art.

Do you want to learn photography? here is your FIRST LESSON by Jose Photography & Design

Be human

JosePD

I love taking pictures of people, and through experience I have learned that many times we (photographers) hide behind the camera and never really connect with the subject we want photograph.
For me connecting is not only about introducing myself and handle business cards, but  about gaining people's trust through honest communication, understanding and respect.

If you want people to give part of themselves to you... earn it.
